Lee was born and raised in the Seattle area and has resided there ever since. Growing up he studied trumpet with the UW's Roy Cummings, and has continued to play with various local musical groups. Some groups that he has played with in the last few years include the Rainier Symphony, Seattle Philharmonic, principal trumpet with Renton City band, Highline Concert Band, Greenwood Concert Band, and the "Touch of Class" and "Will Power" jazz big-bands.
